A night of quiet security shattered for an Oshawa resident this week, replaced by a terrifying invasion and alleged assault within their own home.

Police are urgently seeking a 50-year-old man in connection with the disturbing incident, which unfolded around 9:40 p.m. near Adelaide Ave. W. and Thornton Rd. The suspect, known to the victim, initially presented a seemingly harmless request.

According to investigators, the man approached the home, asking to temporarily park a vehicle on the property. This innocent request quickly escalated, as he then allegedly asked to use the resident’s washroom, gaining entry into the private space.

Once inside, the situation turned violent. Police allege the man physically assaulted the victim before committing a further, deeply disturbing act of exposure. The details paint a picture of a sudden and brutal violation of trust.

The victim, thankfully, managed to escape the home and immediately contacted authorities. However, the alleged assailant had already fled the scene, disappearing into the night in a silver sedan.

Investigators have identified the suspect as Daniel Robert Watson, a resident of Clarington. He is now wanted on a series of serious charges, including assault, assault by choking, sexual assault with a weapon, forcible confinement, and unlawfully being in a dwelling house.
