ICE BACKLASH: Bar Owner's Life Threatened Over Free Beer Offer!

A small-town Idaho saloon unexpectedly found itself at the center of a national firestorm after offering a controversial reward: free beer to anyone who assists federal immigration authorities in identifying and deporting an undocumented immigrant. The Old State Saloon’s promotion, posted online, quickly amassed millions of views and ignited a furious debate.

Owner Mark Fitzpatrick insists his actions stem from deeply held convictions. He describes a commitment to “conservative Christian values and truth,” believing his outspokenness challenges a world he sees as increasingly deceptive. This isn’t the first time the saloon has courted controversy, having previously launched a “Heterosexual Awesomeness Month” as a response to Pride celebrations.

Fitzpatrick attributes the current immigration situation to what he calls a “complete disaster” under recent policies, claiming they’ve encouraged the arrival of individuals he deems undesirable. He envisioned the promotion as a way to support law enforcement and ICE, but the response was immediate and overwhelmingly negative.

The backlash wasn’t limited to online criticism. Fitzpatrick and his family faced direct threats, including disturbing messages and voicemails promising violence and arson. He recounts being told he “should die” for his stance, characterizing the attacks as “despicable.”

Despite the vitriol, Fitzpatrick remains defiant. He believes his opponents resort to personal attacks and name-calling, and views the negative reactions as a revealing display of “wickedness.” He even extended an open invitation to his critics, suggesting a willingness to engage in respectful dialogue.

The saloon has doubled down, introducing further promotions throughout the month. “Manly American Monday” offers free beer to men who support ICE, while “Tattle Tuesday” extends the same offer to women who report undocumented individuals to authorities. A discount is also available for heterosexual couples on Wednesdays.

Fitzpatrick acknowledges the likelihood of few actually claiming the free beer, but points to one instance where Ryan Spoon, a local Republican official, redeemed the offer after providing proof of assisting ICE with an arrest. He insists the promotion isn’t truly about the beer itself.

Instead, Fitzpatrick believes the promotion’s true value lies in sparking conversation and drawing attention to a critical issue. Amidst the threats and negativity, he also reports receiving an outpouring of support, with patrons visiting the saloon to offer encouragement and solidarity.

For Fitzpatrick, the saloon has become a gathering place for those who share his views, a haven from the storm of criticism. He finds strength in the direct support of his community, a tangible reminder that he’s not alone in his convictions.
