VICIOUS LAS VEGAS KILLERS GET LIFE: Justice Served for Slain Hero!

The reckless actions of two Las Vegas teenagers culminated in a life sentence, a stark consequence for a senseless tragedy that unfolded in August 2023. Their crime: intentionally mowing down a retired police chief while on a stolen vehicle rampage, a horrifying act captured on video and broadcast across social media.

Jesus Ayala, then 17, and Jzamir Keys, 16, embarked on a spree of hit-and-run collisions, documenting their destructive path with a phone. The footage revealed a chilling disregard for human life, escalating from minor impacts to a deliberate assault on a vulnerable cyclist.

Andreas Probst, a 64-year-old retired California police chief, became the tragic victim of their malice. The video showed Ayala intentionally swerving the stolen Hyundai into Probst, sending him flying over the vehicle with brutal force. The windshield shattered upon impact, a grim testament to the speed and violence of the collision.

Two young men appearing in a courtroom, viewed through a glass partition, with expressions of seriousness and concern.

Chillingly, the teens can be heard shouting expletives and celebrating the impact, uttering the phrase “Hit his ass” before Probst slammed into the glass. Ayala then sped away, leaving Probst critically injured at the scene.

Despite immediate medical attention, Probst succumbed to his injuries, leaving behind a legacy of service and a community in mourning. Ayala faced 18 charges, including murder, while Keys was charged with three crimes, also including murder.

The courtroom witnessed a disturbing display of callousness as both teens were observed smirking and laughing during previous proceedings, a stark contrast to the gravity of their actions and the profound loss suffered by Probst’s family.

After plea agreements were reached, Clark County District Court Judge Jacqueline Bluth delivered the sentences: 20 years to life for Ayala and 18 years to life for Keys. The judge emphasized the escalating nature of their crimes, stating it was “so much more than a joyride.”

The sentences, while offering a measure of justice, cannot undo the devastation caused by this senseless act. The case serves as a harrowing reminder of the consequences of reckless behavior and the fragility of life, leaving a permanent scar on the Las Vegas community.

Another cyclist was also intentionally targeted during the same spree, surviving the attack but forever marked by the trauma. The full extent of the teens’ motivations remains a haunting question, overshadowed by the irreversible damage they inflicted.
