TRUMP UNDER FIRE: Did He Weaponize the DOJ?!

Former President Donald Trump vehemently denied any direct involvement in the Justice Department’s pursuit of legal cases against prominent figures from his past – including James Comey, John Bolton, and Letitia James.

During a recent interview, CBS News’ Norah O’Donnell directly questioned Trump about the indictments faced by these individuals, asking if they represented acts of “political retribution.” Trump immediately countered, referencing his own legal battles and proclaiming his innocence.

Pressed further on whether he had specifically instructed the Department of Justice to target these individuals, Trump responded with a firm denial. He asserted that the alleged misconduct of these figures was so egregious that those within the Justice Department committed to pursuing cases independently.

Trump specifically highlighted the work of individuals he trusts, like Pam Bondi and Kash Patel, claiming their dedication to honesty naturally led them to investigate and pursue legal action against those he considers “dirty,” “crooked,” and “corrupt.”

Prior to the interview, Trump had publicly called out Comey, James, and Senator Adam Schiff on his social media platform, expressing frustration with the perceived lack of consequences for their actions. He accused them of guilt and demanded action.

Trump’s posts conveyed a sense of urgency and grievance, lamenting the impact of the investigations and indictments on his reputation and credibility. He pointed to his own impeachments and indictments – which he characterized as baseless – as evidence of a double standard.

The former president concluded with a forceful call for “JUSTICE” to be served immediately, signaling his continued belief in his own victimization and the need for accountability for those he accuses of wrongdoing.
