A brazen theft has shaken residents of a Leslieville condominium, leaving a trail of violated security and significant loss. Last Monday, around 8 p.m., an unknown man infiltrated the building near Queen Street East and Logan Avenue, targeting a vulnerable space within the complex.
The intruder didn’t stop at simply entering the building; he systematically breached the security of the residents’ storage locker room located within the parking garage. This wasn’t a random act of vandalism, but a calculated invasion of personal property.
The haul was substantial, totaling over $15,000 in stolen goods. Among the items taken were two high-end mountain bikes – an orange Scott valued at a staggering $13,000 and a grey Marin worth $2,500.
But the theft extended beyond bicycles. The suspect also made off with valuable DJ equipment, a power drill, and even a snowboard with all its accompanying gear, impacting multiple residents and their passions.
Police have now released images of the suspect, hoping someone will recognize him and provide a crucial lead in the investigation. He is described as a man between 40 and 50 years old, of medium build, and sporting distinct black facial hair.
On the night of the incident, the suspect was clad in a beige jacket and pants, paired with black shoes. He attempted to conceal his identity with a grey toque and a beige scarf, but investigators believe someone may recall seeing him.
