Jacob Elordi is amping up excitement for Euphoria season three after calling it “incredibly clever and cinematic.”
The Frankenstein actor stars in the HBO series as Nate Jacobs in the Zendaya-led show about high-school teens. The series has had two seasons, the last debuting in 2022, with the upcoming third season speculated to be the last.
“It was incredible, man,” the actor told Variety on Saturday (18 October) at the Academy Museum Gala in Los Angeles. “It was incredibly liberating. I got to play something so sort of far out from what I’ve done before,” added.
The Australian actor also lauded Euphoria‘s creator, Sam Levinson, as having “constructed something that’s incredibly clever and cinematic. I think people are really going to like it.”
However, he failed to spill any specific details about the plot. HBO has previously said the new season will start with a time jump, taking the main characters out of high school.
“Everybody shoots at different storylines,” Elordi told Variety. “I don’t know what anyone else is doing. I had a really singular storyline. You don’t know what the other story lines are. It’s like FBI files. So it’s great because I’ll get to consume the show the same way that everybody else does as a fan, which I haven’t been able to do before. I’m really excited.”
Sydney Sweeney, who stars as Cassie in the show, has described season three as “unhinged.” She told Empire in May: “Sam [Levinson] is such a brilliant filmmaker to work with, because I’ll read something, then I’ll call him, and I’m like, ‘Let’s go crazier.’ And he’s like, ‘I’m all in.’ And this season is unhinged.”
Euphoria will see Zendaya reprise her role as Rue Bennett with Hunter Schafer, Maude Apatow, Eric Dane, Nika King, and Alexa Demie among those also returning.
It was recently confirmed that Trisha Paytas has joined the cast as has Natasha Lyonne. They join Sharon Stone as newcomers to Euphoria as well as Rosalía, Marshawn Lynch, and Kadeem Hardison.
